TERMS OF SERVICE FOR TICKET BUYERS
Version buyer-terms-2026-09 · Last updated 3 September
2026
1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THESE TERMS COVER
Arivela is operated by Butter & Scholz GbR, Gärtnerstraße 7, 10245 Berlin,
Germany ("Arivela", "we", "us"). Our full
legal and contact details are in the
Imprint.
These terms apply when you order a ticket for an event, retreat or training through Arivela.
They govern your relationship with us. They do not replace the conditions of the host
who runs the event — those come from the host and are shown to you before you order.
Using the platform without ordering a ticket is additionally subject to our acceptable use
rules; the version in force until this document replaced it stays available as
Acceptable Use Policy aup-2026-08.
2. OUR ROLE: WE ARE NOT THE ORGANISER
Arivela is not the organiser of the events offered on the platform and not the seller of the
tickets. The event is run by the respective host, in the host's own name and for the host's own
account. The contract for taking part comes into existence exclusively between you and
the host. Arivela arranges that contract and concludes it in the name of and for the
account of the host.
The host is named to you with its legal name, its address for service and a contact route before
you place your order — in the checkout summary, on your order page and in your confirmation
email. Alongside that we render our own service to you: we arrange the offer, issue and deliver
your ticket and handle the payment. That service is what our service fee pays for (section 4).
We do not run the event, we do not supervise it, and we do not check hosts' qualifications,
insurance or permits.
3. HOW YOUR ORDER BECOMES A CONTRACT
The technical steps. You choose a ticket type and a quantity on the offer page.
On the checkout page you see the event, the date and time in the event's own time zone, the
place, the ticket type, the quantity, the ticket price, our service fee and the highlighted
total. You enter your email address and confirm these terms. Clicking
"Order with obligation to pay" submits your binding order. You are then taken to
our payment provider to pay. The contract with the host is concluded when we accept your order
in the host's name; you receive that acceptance as an order confirmation by email together with
your ticket.
Correcting input errors. Until you click the order button you can change every
entry: adjust the quantity, pick a different ticket type, correct your email address, or leave
the page. The checkout summary shows all of it in one place so you can check it before you order.
Storage of the contract text. We store your order together with the version of
these terms you accepted. You receive the contract details on a durable medium with your order
confirmation email; the accepted version of these terms stays retrievable under its version
identifier.
Contract languages. The contract can be concluded in English, German or
Spanish. In case of doubt the German version of these terms prevails.
Payment methods. Payment is by card or Link through our payment provider Stripe,
in euro. We do not charge you anything extra for choosing one payment method over another.
4. PRICE AND SERVICE FEE
The ticket price is set by the host. On top of the host's ticket price we charge you a
service fee for our own service of 5% of the ticket price, but at
least €1.50 per ticket. No cap applies. The fee is charged
per ticket, not per order.
The exact figures in force, the minimum and the behaviour on refunds are set out in our
fee schedule.
The service fee is our consideration for arranging the offer to you, issuing and delivering your
ticket and handling the payment. It is due to Arivela and is not part of the price the host
charges for the event.
You are shown the fee as its own line with its amount before you order, and it is contained in
the highlighted total. All amounts are total prices, where applicable including value added tax.
Free tickets carry no service fee. Pay-what-you-can tickets carry the same fee as paid tickets.
5. NO RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
For taking part in an event tied to a specific date there is
no right of withdrawal (§ 312g (2) no. 9 of the German Civil Code). Whether and
until when you can cancel free of charge is set by the host; those conditions are on the event
page, in your checkout summary and in your order confirmation.
6. WHAT YOUR TICKET IS
Your ticket is a small bearer instrument within the meaning of § 807 of the German Civil Code:
whoever presents it is admitted, so you may pass it on. A ticket can be redeemed
once. If a ticket is scanned a second time it is shown as already redeemed and
admission can be refused.
Arivela currently offers no function for transferring or reselling a ticket through the platform.
If we ever introduce one, we will state the price set by the organiser alongside it, as required
by Art. 246d § 1 no. 7 EGBGB.
7. CANCELLATION, POSTPONEMENT AND REFUNDS
If the host cancels the event, the host owes you repayment of the ticket price. We settle the
refund on the host's behalf and, in doing so, also refund the service fee on the payment method
you used.
If a refund happens at your request, or as a goodwill gesture from us, you get
the ticket price back for the tickets concerned and the service fee for them stays with us: it
paid for arranging the offer, issuing your ticket and handling the payment, and that work was
done. The service fee for tickets that remain valid stays with us as well.
If the host moves the event to a different date, we inform you. What you can claim in that case
follows from your contract with the host and from the law.
Cancellation by you is governed by the host's own conditions, shown to you before you order. If
the host has stated no conditions of its own, we say so instead of inventing a standard.
8. AGE AND LEGAL CAPACITY
You can only order tickets if you have full legal capacity or your parents or guardians have
agreed. Whether an event has an age limit is set by the host and shown on the event page.
9. MARKETPLACE INFORMATION
Ranking. How search results are ordered, and the main parameters behind that
order, are explained on
How we order results.
No affiliation. Hosts on Arivela are independent third parties. Arivela and the
hosts are not affiliated undertakings, unless an offer says otherwise.
Trader or private host. Each host declares whether it acts as a trader. We show
that declaration on the checkout page. Where a host declares that it is not acting as a
trader, consumer protection law does not apply to your contract with that host — you are then
contracting with a private individual.
Who owes what. The host owes the event itself and everything connected with
running it. Arivela owes the arrangement of the contract, the issuing and delivery of your ticket
and the handling of the payment. The host uses Arivela for those steps; no separate claims
against Arivela arise from the host's own obligations.
Resale. Arivela does not operate a resale market for tickets.
10. CONTENT, MODERATION AND AUTOMATED DECISIONS
What may not be published. Offers and profiles may not contain unlawful content,
content infringing third-party rights, misleading statements, or health claims that suggest a
cure or relief of illness. The detailed rules are the acceptable use rules referred to in
section 1.
Moderation. If content breaches these rules or the law, we can hide the offer or
profile, restrict it or remove it, suspend the host's access, and terminate the relationship.
Anyone affected by such a measure receives a statement of reasons and can object through the
contact route in section 14.
Automated processing and human review. Arivela uses automated processing in two
places: a creation assistant that suggests wording to hosts, and a ranking that orders search
results. Neither decides whether a contract comes about, and neither removes content on its own.
Decisions to restrict or remove content are taken by a person. Where an automated tool
contributed, you can ask for a human review.
Reporting content. You can report content you consider unlawful at any time
through Report & contact. We confirm receipt,
decide on the report and give reasons for our decision to you and to the host concerned.
11. LIABILITY
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or
health, including where caused by simple negligence.
For simple negligence we are otherwise only liable where we breach an obligation whose
fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose
observance you may regularly rely. That liability is limited to the damage typically foreseeable
for this kind of contract.
Liability under the Product Liability Act and liability arising from a guarantee we have given
remain unaffected. Any further liability is excluded.
This applies to our own service. Arivela is not the organiser, exercises no supervision at events
and checks no qualifications; claims arising from the event itself are directed at the host.
12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
The version that applies to your order is the version you accepted at the time of ordering. Its
version identifier is stored with your order and named in your order confirmation. Superseded
versions stay retrievable; the previous one is
aup-2026-08.
13. APPLICABLE LAW AND DISPUTES
German law applies. If you are a consumer with your habitual residence in the EU, this does not
deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of
residence.
If a dispute with us arises that we cannot settle, we will tell you which consumer arbitration
body is competent, with its address and website, in our reply to your complaint (§ 37 VSBG).
Our complaints route is Report & contact.
