The meals

Meals are more than food; they are a sensory, grounding ritual, a return to the body and to the earth.

Our menu is plant-based, seasonal, and lovingly prepared, guided by the wisdom that food is both medicine and art.

Designed in collaboration with Chef Arabella Parkinson of Eat to Thrive Consultancy, each dish reflects a deep commitment to mindful eating, sustainability, and vitality.

We serve whole, nutrient-dense meals, celebrating real ingredients and reducing waste wherever possible. We gladly adapt to dietary requirements and collaborate with facilitators on personalised meal planning, ensuring your group is nourished with care and ease.

Behind the lodge, our organic permaculture garden provides much of what ends up on your plate — harvested fresh and full of life.

You’re welcome to walk through it and witness how food is grown in harmony with nature.

About this experience

Awaken to birdsong and soft morning light filtering through the trees. The river flows gently nearby. There is stillness and space. Guests begin to rise, slow and softened by sleep, ready to meet the day. And you feel it: the quiet confidence of being fully supported.

At Nourish Move Love Bali retreats, you are not just attending a retreat, you are held in an environment that honours your presence.

Guided sunrise meditations on the river deck as mist rises from the water. End the day with candlelit sharing in the circular meditation room, or quiet reflection under a sky scattered with stars.

This is more than a retreat. It’s a return, to nature and to presence. We’re here to support every step, so you can focus on what is most import - YOU!

What to bring

The Wet Season October- April:

As September moves into October the temperatures rise considerably and dark clouds build up day after day on the horizon until finally the first rains fall dramatically as afternoon thunder showers that usually clear quite quickly. The landscape transforms overnight into a palette of vibrant greens and the air is alive with the buzz of insects. Colorful migratory birds flock into Greater Kruger and the distinctive call of the Woodlands Kingfisher can be heard all along the banks of the Olifants River at Sashwa. Many animals give birth to their young during this season, so the bush is alive with baby animals and birds.

The temperatures and humidity can be very high over this season with night time temperatures around 18 degrees celsius and average day time temperatures of 32 degrees celsius rising to over 40 degrees celsius on occasion. This is the time of year to enjoy early morning safari drives, the paradise of birds in our gardens and our salt water swimming pool, retreating during the heat of the day to a blissfully cool air conditioned room for a siesta.

We suggest you pack light summer weight clothing in breathable natural organic/cotton fabrics, a long sleeve shirt and pants for the evenings and a sunhat and swimsuit to keep fresh.

Frequently asked questions

Absolutely. In fact, I expect many of the women joining us will be travelling on their own. I know South Africa can feel intimidating if you've never travelled there before, and I don't want to brush that concern aside with a casual "You'll be fine!" Your safety is one of the most important things to me. The retreat takes place at a private 5-star eco safari lodge in the Greater Kruger area, and once you arrive, you won't be navigating South Africa by yourself. We'll give you clear travel instructions for getting to the local airport, your transfer to the lodge is arranged, and our safari experiences are with professional guides in managed wildlife areas. Following your guide's instructions is one of the fundamentals of safe wildlife viewing. But I think the deeper question I'm hearing is... "Will I feel safe coming all this way on my own when I don't know anybody?" And THAT answer is also yes. You may arrive alone, but you won't experience this retreat alone. This is intentionally a small group of women. We eat together, explore together, go on safari together, laugh together and probably know far too much about one another by the time we sit around the fire on our last evening. You don't need to bring a friend to belong here.
