Sean Goldberg is the founder and lead teacher of Samasti Yoga, a yoga teacher training school in Canggu, Bali, which he started in 2016. More than 500 students have graduated from its 200 hour and 300 hour trainings since then.
He qualified as a physiotherapist in Australia, where he is registered, and he is a clinical Pilates instructor. His teaching stands on two legs: clinical movement science from his physiotherapy training, and traditional practice he carries as a recognised teacher within Shivoham Tantra, a classical tantra school. He assists his teacher's workshops in Bali and returns to the ashram in India each year.
Sean began practising in 2006 and spent five years studying, practising and teaching in a Hatha Tantra school in Thailand rooted in Bihar Yoga philosophy. In 2010 he completed a 500 hour yoga and meditation teacher training with a strong focus on silent retreats and an energetic form of Hatha Yoga, and he has since divided his time between India, Brazil and Bali, continuing his practice of traditional tantra, self knowledge and somatic therapy.
He teaches anatomy, meditation and philosophy on the Samasti trainings, and he separates what the research shows from what is his own reading of it, out loud, in the room. He also teaches meditation courses, workshops and retreats for people living with chronic pain, anxiety and insomnia.
